STMicroelectronics launched EVL150W-HVSL LED driver evaluation board and reference design to ensure that LED lamps have excellent performance, and can save bill-of-material (BOM) costs, and accelerate the development of LED street lamps and medium and high power lighting applications.

As a 150W, 1A mains input driver, it can provide up to 91% of full load efficiency and save the electricity cost of street lamp operators to the greatest extent. Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is within the scope of EN55022 electromagnetic compatibility standard, and within 230V AC, 30~100% load range, Total Harmonic Distortion 10%, in line with European EN61000-3-2 Class-C and Japanese JEITA- MITI Class-C lighting equipment specification.

The EVL150W-HVSL evaluation board is equipped with a 90-264V AC universal input and complies with the safety standards of IEC 60950-1 and 62368-1. It supports three dimming modes: analog, resistance and Pulse Width Modulation. Flicker-free PWM dimming depth at any switching frequency is 1%.

In addition, the evaluation board also includes ST's STCMB1 Power-Factor Correction controller and a high-voltage resonant half-bridge controller with LCC topology, which can provide a constant current output with a relative voltage, so it is very suitable for driving LED lamps. The unique technical functions of this product include constant on-clock PFC control, resonant half-bridge time shift control and hard switching prevention, which can save external component costs and ensure dynamic performance and excellent ripple suppression. In the high-load mode, PFC and half-bridge drive are synchronized, reducing the light-load input power consumption to less than 0.5W. The high-power 20-pin STCMB1 also integrates an 800V start-up circuit and an X capacitor discharge and power sequencing circuit without any auxiliary power supply.
